Japanese Buddhist Temple Bell - Miniature Plastic Model

Brand new small (please see size information below) plastic Japanese Buddhist temple bell model.  Bronze bells are commonly used in Japan by Buddhist temples for religious services and may be found within the temple as well as outdoors within beautiful protective structures.  The tiny model offered here captures the look of an authentic Buddhist temple bell.  Similar bells were also commonly used in Japan as community fire bells.  Fire bells were (and in many communities still are) normally situated atop a high tower centrally located within the village or town.  In the event of fire someone would quickly climb the tower and sound the alarm by striking the bell rapidly with a small wood or metal hammer.  The distinct sound of the fire bell can hardly be mistaken for the solemn gong of the temple bell, with the former causing community members to rapidly gather in order to aid in extinguishing the blaze.  This tiny bell model offered here does not make any sound.
