Old Fashioned Japan Sake Flask - "Tanuki Style" Tokkuri

kr 553,90 NOK

Description

Brand new yet old-fashioned corked Japanese sake flask. The large characters read "chuu," a type of sake, while the smaller ones say "pon pokko," an onomatopoeic reference to the sound a Tanuki (raccoon dog) makes when drumming its belly. The Tanuki, a symbol of the dangers of alcohol overindulgence, is often depicted with an empty purse and sake jug, highlighting the perils of excess. The flask also features the maker's name, "Hananomai," meaning "Dancing Flowers." This charming flask is perfect for serving sake or as a display piece.
