This slender Japanese kiseru pipe is a quiet relic from an earlier age of tobacco culture—perhaps Meiji, Taisho, or early Showa. The iron mouthpiece and bowl have taken on rich patina and corrosion from decades of use and exposure. The bamboo stem, though weathered and slightly cracked, remains firm and beautifully aged. A tactile and humble example of a once-everyday object now retreating into memory.

📏 Approximate dimensions
• Length: 16.5 cm
• Weight: 30g
• Width at widest point: ~1 cm
• Materials: Iron and bamboo
• Condition: Poor – rust, corrosion, cracks, and surface damage, but structurally intact.

Despite its condition, this kiseru holds tremendous storytelling value. The worn surface, the corrosion, the feel of the bamboo warmed by long-ago hands—each detail points to a lifetime of daily ritual, of small moments steeped in custom. This piece could be gently cleaned and restored, or left as-is—a contemplative object in a study, a shelf, or a shadowbox.

Curated in Shizuoka City by Kurt Bell, this piece offers a quiet, tangible connection to Japanese domestic life and the art of taking one's time.
